This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced, specialist business where payroll accuracy, compliance, and customer service are at the heart of everything they do.\nIf you're looking for a role that offers real variety, career progression, and the chance to work closely with contractors, agencies, and internal stakeholders, this could be the perfect next step.\nThe Role\nAs Senior Payroll Advisor, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate and compliant payroll services across a diverse contractor portfolio.\nYour responsibilities will include:\n * Processing weekly and monthly payroll for umbrella, CIS, and contractor workers\n * Calculating PAYE, National Insurance, pensions, holiday pay, and statutory deductions\n * Validating timesheets, invoices, and payment instructions\n * Acting as a senior point of contact for contractor payroll queries\n * Investigating and resolving complex payroll discrepancies\n * Ensuring full compliance with HMRC, FCSA, SafeRec, AWR, and pension regulations\n * Supporting and mentoring junior payroll team members\n * Assisting with process improvements and system enhancements\n * Working closely with internal teams, agencies, and contractors\nThis is a highly visible, client-facing role within a busy contractor payroll environment.\nAbout You\nTo be successful, you'll ideally have:\n * Proven experience within umbrella, CIS, or contractor payroll\n * Strong knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, pensions, and holiday accrual\n * A solid understanding of HMRC legislation and payroll compliance\n * Experience working in a high-volume payroll environment\n * Excellent problem-solving and communication skills\n * A proactive, detail-focused approach\n * Previous experience supporting or mentoring colleagues\nCandidates from umbrella companies, contractor payroll providers, recruitment payroll, or CIS payroll environments are particularly encouraged to apply.\nWhat's On Offer\n * Competitive basic salary\n * Excellent benefits package\n * Clear progression opportunities\n * Supportive and collaborative team environment\n * Exposure to a specialist and growing sector\n * Ongoing professional development\nWhy Apply?\nThis is more than a traditional payroll role.
